Agrestowa

The work on the interior design of a two-level terraced apartment in the green suburbs of Wrocław was extremely unusual. The project was created for a couple who are also its author – an architect, owner of the Modue Studio design studio and her partner, a 3d graphic artist.

Designing for oneself is demanding

and reconciling the characters and aesthetic and functional preferences of two creative minds is a real challenge!

The final effect of this cooperation is the interior of the apartment, which is an absolute dream come true for a minimalist, monochrome space, filled with inspiring designer furniture, paintings, travel memories, the light of the rays of the setting sun, the velvety sound of music, incense smell and zen atmosphere.

It’s a sanctuary where it’s nice to just be

away from the rush of the outside world. A place made by people for the people who call it home today.

The design basis are bright, warm colors, they give a sense of peace, complemented with natural greenery in the form of plants and strong contrasting black visible in the accents of the kitchen, wardrobe, solid wood chairs, lighting fixtures and details. Contrasts are visible in shapes creating space, geometric, simple, minimalist forms are softened by soft lines of furniture and natural fabrics.

The honesty and naturalness of materials is ubiquitous here, we see it in the details of welding stairs, wood grain on the kitchen fronts, corten on the toilet wall, linen and cotton fabrics.

The idea behind the design was to look for interesting, but timeless and functional solutions.

Italian classic design is intertwined with modernity

and allows members of the household to smile involuntarily during the day and feel that dreams are coming true.

The first level of the apartment functions as a living space in two ways,

a living room with an open kitchen and a table to celebrate everyday moments and more. There is also an office on this level which is completely separated from the living area. The common element of these two functions is the entrance area with the toilet.

A spiral staircase leads us to the second level, i.e. the attic

made of black natural steel, with a curved railing. This is the night zone. The roof truss closed with the roof geometry creates a unique, spatial atmosphere of this storey.

In the central part there is a second living room, which serves as a cinema hall thanks to a dream projector mounted to the roof truss beam and soft, enveloping furniture and a quality sound system. There is room for books, albums, art and personal memories here.

In the attic you will also find the Investors’ main bedroom with a private bathroom with a free-standing bathtub in an organic form, a dressing room and an additional bedroom for guests.
