Baltea Apartment

The apartment is located by the Polish sea with a beautiful view, framed by the lounge window frames, on the vast sandy beach on the outskirts of Gdańsk. The primary function of the apartment is a weekend reset and relaxation from the rushing, crowded and noisy Warsaw, where Investors live every day. The design goal was to achieve an atmosphere of calm, slow breathing and materials evoking rest associations. In the interior design, we took care of natural, Scandinavian, timeless materials that will make the time spent in the apartment more pleasant.

The color palette is based on noble colors

warm – shades of brown and ocher, light-colored oak wood, juxtaposed with a stone pattern of calacatta marble, natural stainless steel, and light, soft boucle fabrics.

Cobalt, as a color that stands out against the background of subdued colors, has been introduced in accessories, this color harmonizes with the stainless steel, which makes it even nobler.

The whole is complemented by furniture such as an inflatable mirror by Oskar Zięta or the round modular bedside tables Componibili manufactured for almost forty years.

In the designed space, we can find a variety of forms and textures.

In the living room and kitchen, we chose tiles in the form of a miniature mosaic consisting of matt white tiles with gray grout, placed on the wall atypically. We repeated this treatment in the bathroom in the shower area, changing the color of the grout to reddish brown in order to be consistent with the colors of this room. In the bedroom, we chose a white, velvety touch spatial tile, arranged horizontally in a single row on the wall.

The function of the apartment was implemented in the form of an open plan

that is, the entrance zone with space for storing outerwear connected to the kitchen, in which we find a dining table with chairs in the central part, the whole function is open to the living room. One of the walls is finished with a mirror with a symmetrical division, which optically enlarges the space and adds lightness to the hanging furniture with a hidden TV set with steel fronts.

The usability and timelessness of interiors and the materials used in them are important to us.

This thinking results from the wide use of ceramic and porcelain tiles in this project as durable and easy-to-clean materials. Tiles with a marble pattern can be found in a larger format as a complete floor finish in an apartment with a color change to a red marble vein in the bathroom.

The wall mentioned above in the living room is also finished with a ceramic mosaic. To maintain the material consistency in the bedroom, we also used ceramic tile on the wall in a three-dimensional form.
